Get Lit
OK it is not looking good for the Get Lit Race. It is really cold and lots of snow. Mom still says we can do it if it is over 30 degrees she will pay the late amount for us to run in the Christmas lights.

wow this race was FUN. I was not fast but I finished. There were some steep hills and the last mile was runnin into the wind. It was so cold and windy but I was ready. Thanks for the help from my friends. They encouraged me and I finished.

Ran in the 11th annual Morton St Jude Road Race. I am not sure of my time as the time clock blew over in the wind if that tells you anything. It rained until race time and it was damp and cold. Ok enough excuses I did finish but I(we)think my time was 43 minutes. My other excuse was I rode in the combine all day Friday made me wheeze and have alot of asthma and allergy trouble. Guess it was just good to finish. Next race is Oct 30, 2010. Going to go this week and get some long pants to run in.

Back to the walk/running. Ms K and I walked/ran tonight. It is really cool and windy. Not to great on the wheezing. We did two miles but sometimes I just have to take it easy and do what I can do.
How was your weekend? Ours was great. We went to the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt Pleasant Iowa. Really had a great time. Our friends joined us. It was a great camping weekend. Nice and cool with plenty of sunshine. (until the rain started last night) I have no idea how far but I walked my legs off. It was great.

Ms K, mom and I walked around town. That is a nice switch. Wednesdays we have to go later but it works out great for all of us. It was really nice and cool tonight. i am not sure how far we walked tonight but it was a steady 40 minutes.

Tonight there was no running or walking. I have signed up for a fitness class. This will be a credit for me but will help me meet people and reach some of my fitness goals. Mom is taking this class too. We had orientation tonight. I will be lifting and doing cardio she is just doing cardio. It was really really hot in there as they are just setting up after they had to relocate to the back of the gym. Tonight they walked me through all the machines and how to set up the seat height and the amount of weight I can lift. Cannot wait until next Tuesday to begin working out. I have to have 32 sessions for an A. The orientation gave me two workouts so I have 30 to go. I am going to like this class.

Maui Jim Maka Maka Race Thur 8-19-10
Tonight Miss K and I ran/walked another race. This makes race number two. This race was 5K or 3.1 miles. We finished it in 46 minutes. The race started at the Maui Jim and went through the parking lot and some small streets near Maui Jim. The weather was hot but not too bad. However, by the end I was really hot! Miss K and I had a great time. We will be taking a break, 3 days, We are already set up for another race in the middle of September. I am looking forward to it!

She liked it except for the part that she tried to fall off her feet once. Gotta watch her all the time I thought she was going to take off running. (she was trying not to fall) We made it back to the school in one piece. We were all very very hot.

Tonight we attended an open house/orientation for the college. I am set and ready to go only need one more workbook. It is for my computer class. They said I should check each day and they will be in soon. Mom and dad have made me walk my class route and shown me so much stuff. I cannot believe it. I am sure I can find the cafeteria, library, bathroom, vending machines, fire exits and coffee shop. I am sure I didn't need to run/walk tonight. I did alot of walking.

Tonight we went to the college to get my books. Wow that was expensive. I went to the fitness center/gym and checked out the equipment. One of my classes I signed up for a fitness class. School starts in less than two weeks. I cannot wait.

Tonight Mom and I went to the track. I almost ran two complete laps with out stopping (one half mile). I stopped just short of lap from the start/finish line. I was so proud of myself. Mom was too. I was completely out of breath when I stopped but I still kept going walking/running the remaining 8 laps. I have improved my pacing but still start off much too fast when I run by myself.

I have been on vacation. I went to an airshow in Wisconsin. My family and I looked at many old war airplanes. I had tons of fun. We are not sure exactly how far we walked but we do know that we walked more than 20 miles. We were camped about 1.25 miles from the flight line and in one day made 6 trips back and forth. We walked alot and my mom will tell you how much she walked carring a folding chair (we all did). We saw a great number of exhibits and lectures. We drank alot of water. It was really really hot. Look up Oshgosh Airventure 2010 for more info. We have gone several times to this air show and I know we will go again. It is so much fun.

Lincoln Douglas Race

Today I weighed myself. I weigh 168. I lost 8 pounds in 4 weeks. That would be a total of 15 pounds lost so far. I was very happy. Ms K weighs weekley. I am going to try that.

Today Ms K and I went to East Side to walk in the pool. It was tons of fun. Well realy when we were going against the current it was a work out. However going with the current was not so bad. Ms K and I passed several people in the pool going both ways Ms K and I discovered that we went 8 times from one side of the pool to the other. We do not know th length of the pool or how many times it took to make a mile. I do know one thing I am very tired. Running in a pool is hard work

Okay, I am really sore today. First I went to a truck show in Iowa with my dad. We walked almost 3 miles looking at all the restored trucks. Later I went walk/running 3.5 miles on the track with the addition of running up and down the bleachers (1 time). I ran almost 2 laps without stopping I will say that running up and down the bleachers was not my idea. My mother saw a few other people doing the bleacher steps and she asked me if I wanted to give it a try. I told her sure why not. Well my mom and I are really regretting are that decision. I am very tired today and she is totally worn out.

Ummmmmmmm today must have been my day off. I did nothing but went to my grandma's and helped her with her house work and flowers, I bowled 2 games and took my grandma to the movie and we ate at Culver's.
